Our hotel enjoys a privileged location in the center of Meiringen, just a short 5-minute walk from the train station and 700 meters from the mountain railway. A seamless skiing experience awaits you in winter: from Meiringen train station, the ski bus takes you directly to the cable car station, which takes you effortlessly and comfortably up the Hasliberg to Reuti. From there, the world of the Alpine panorama opens up to you with the gondola ride to Bidmi and Mägisalp, up to the Alpentower – a true paradise for winter sports lovers.

Winter is just around the corner and accordingly nothing stands in the way of your stay at Hotel Dakota. 60 kilometers of slopes promise varied days on skis or snowboard. If you book this special, the ski passes will be conveniently waiting for you at the hotel on the day of arrival and you will save yourself the tedious queuing. Skis and equipment can also be rented stress-free directly at the hotel.
The package includes accommodation in a double room Superiore including breakfast, all public transport, free access to the indoor pool in town and two ski passes each. Packed lunches can be ordered the day before for 12.00 CHF.

Every year, Meiringen celebrates an ancient custom of Celtic origin: the Old Year’s Week and the Ubersitz from December 25 to 30, 2024. During this time, the people of Haslital march through the village and chase away wandering spirits back to the realm of the dead with masks, trycheln and cowbells.
The rustic ceremony reaches its overwhelmingly beautiful climax with the Ubersitz. Then the Trychler from Eisenbolgen, Hasliberg, Hausen, Meiringen, Willigen and Unterbach come together in the center of Meiringen and end the Old Year’s week with a deafening procession.

The night sledging and night skiing offers on the Hasliberg are an unforgettable experience. On the unlit toboggan run from Mägisalp to Bidmi or on the lit piste between Mägisalp and Bidmi/Reuti you will experience a whole new winter sports feeling. Im Bergrestaurant Mägisalp geniessen Sie umrahmt von volkstümlicher Unterhaltung einen gemütlichen Hüttenabend.
Bis um 22 Uhr ist an Silvester und jeden Freitag vom 20. Januar bis 10. März 2023 sowie jeden Mittwoch von 1. Februar bis 1. März 2023 der unbeleuchtete Schlittelweg von Mägisalp nach Bidmi geöffnet.
What could be better in the cold season than a typical Swiss cheese fondue in the newly opened Sageli Kaltenbrunnen restaurant in the beautiful Rosenlaui valley.
Spend an unforgettable day in Winter Wonderland on snowshoes or on foot in the snow-covered Rosenlaui or travel comfortably from the hotel.
Start the evening with a mulled wine as a welcome drink followed by a fondue including rich side dishes and a glass of Kirsch for 30.00 CHF per person (25.00 CHF without mulled wine). Drinks, appetizers or desserts as well as menu adjustments can be easily ordered directly at the Restaurant Sageli.
